This Regulation determines the following issues: animal health conditions for placing on the market, import and transit of animals and aquaculture products; minimum preventive measures aimed to increase the awareness and preparedness of the competent authorities, aquaculture production business operators and others related to this specific sector including the aquatic animal diseases; minimum control measures to be applied in case of suspicion or an outbreak of certain diseases in aquatic animals; additional duties, responsibilities and power of the competent authorities.
This text transposes the provisions contained in the following documents: Council Directive 2006/88/EC of 24 October 2006 on animal health requirements applicable to aquaculture animals and products thereof, and on the prevention and control of certain diseases in aquatic animals; and Implementing Commission Directive 2014/22/EU of 13 February 2014 and its amending Annex IV that regards the infectious salmon anemia.
The Annex is an integral part of this Regulation.
