This Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, which is composed of eight articles, lays down provisions governing labeling of beef, keeping records and reporting on beef in accordance with the legislation of the European Community. Beef must be labeled in accordance with the regulations governing the general labeling of prepackaged foods, the regulations governing the labeling of foods that are prepackaged, and the provisions of this Regulation. Labels for marking carcasses and meat must be persistent and resistant to damage, and firmly installed so that they can not be reused. Information on the label must be clearly visible and easily legible. Slaughters processing plants are required to report on slaughtered cattle to the central register maintained by the Department of Animal Identification and Registration of the Ministry.
