The Regulation establishes that all operators and organizations shall, at each of their various stages of production and sale, have an identification system and a comprehensive registration system. Such a system shall be applied in such a way as to ensure the link between the identification of the meat and the animal or animals concerned. For beef derived from animals which have been reared for 30 days or less the indication of those Member States or third countries, as a Member State or third country where rearing took place, shall not be required, provided those animals were reared in another Member State or third country for a period longer than 30 days. (14 articles).
