The present Ordinance enforces the Wild Flora and Fauna Trade Act (BGBl. I Nr. 16/2010) and transposes into national law the Council Regulation (EEC) No. 338/97 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein of 3 March 1997. In particular, the Ordinance lays down provisions relating to the methods of marking of specimens of wild fauna and flora.
