This Directive sets forth a Community system of supervision and control of shipments of radioactive waste and spent fuel. The aim is to guarantee an adequate protection of population against hazards. These measures apply to transboundary shipments of radioactive waste and spent fuel, including intra-Community shipments and extra-Community shipments.
