The purpose of the present Law is to implement the Federal Foodstuff Act of 9 October 1992, the Animal Disease Act of 1 July 1966 and the Animal Protection Act of 16 December 2005. The text consists of 32 articles divided in 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (I); Food security (II); Animal disease (III); Animal protection (IV); Financing (V); Legal protection (VI); Transitional and final provisions (VII).
