This Order implements provisions of the Radiological Protection Act, 1991 by providing rules relative to all practices which involve a risk from ionising radiation emanating from an artificial source or from a natural radiation source in cases where natural radionuclides are being or have been processed in view of their radioactive, fissile or fertile properties. The Rules mainly concern the custody, production, processing, handling, holding, storage, use, manufacture, importing into or exporting from the European Union, distribution, transportation, recycling, re-use or other disposal of radioactive substances and nuclear devices.
