This Regulation prescribes general principles for the trade in fish products and shrimps. Fish products are those products made from fish species as mentioned in the first paragraph of article 3, under a, b, c and d of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2406/96 laying down common marketing standards for certain fishery products. The Regulation prescribes prohibitions for purposes of Council Regulation (EC) No. 2406/96 laying down common marketing standards for certain fishery products and provides rules for the landing, transportation and processing of fish products. They also concern quality control and disposal of fish that cannot be used for human consumption.
