The Act applies to the protection of nature, wild animals, plants, their habitats by improving and creating areas of important wildlife and cultural interests, and by providing public access for outdoor recreation purposes. Special regulations are set for lakes, rivers, moors, bogs, marshes, coastal swamps, freshwater marshes, grasslands, etc. Should any change of status for these be required, it will be on the premises of their size and capacity. The local council shall implement measures according to the Blueprint set out by Natura2000-project.
