This Act lays down provisions concerning treatment of vertebral animals. The Act establishes that an animal, as a live being, capable of suffering, is not a thing. Humans shall respect, protect and take care of animals. The present Act forbids killing of animals, except of cases specified in art. 6, and forbids mistreatment of animals.
