The present Act lays down the general principles governing breeding and preservation of genetic resources, evaluation of the breeding value, keeping of the livestock register and control of livestock breeding. The Act is composed of the following Sections: General principles (sect. 1); Evaluation of the breeding value of livestock (sect. 2); Books and registers of livestock (sect. 3); Livestock breeding (sect. 4); Control of livestock breeding (sect. 4a); Conditions on participation of horses in competition (sect. 4b); Provisions on cooperation with central authorities of member countries of the European Union (sect. 4c); Penal provisions (sect. 5); Transitional and final provisions (sect. 6).
